Rarebreed
took our years of experience of playing paintball and wanted
to produced
games from a players point of view. We know what we liked
and disliked about games. We knew the problems we had seen,
and the success that made a game great.
So we first
looked at the biggest problem, cost. The gas to drive, the
food, oh the the gear that always breaks before a game, So
we decided we wanted to have a BYOP (Bring Your Own Paint)
event. Now there's seems to be a trend going around with
this. The days of $80 cases of paint are gone. Now We often
wondered why more fields and producers did not see this
sooner, but the age old love of money is hard to beat.
Times have
changed, and to survive so did the fields and event
producers. Now lets face it a field must make money or
what's the point. With that said and the hard times our
world has fallen on along comes BYOP, a way to get more
players at a reduced cost and if you price your field paint
right aw you are back in the game .
So we then
looked at all this role playing that was going on in game
and we wanted to get back to a more basic game, Don't get me
wrong the role playing is great added fun however, to be
taken out by dragons breath after fighting your way to get a
good spot and then a spell takes you out, So we went back to
the basics. When a paintball was the reason you where out or
a related prop.
Then we
looked at how we could make every player enjoy the game
more. We wanted to add clear and easy to find props, we
wanted to make sure the field was marked so it was easy to
find your mission location. We wanted to make sure the sides
where as even as we could get, too many times it get one
sided.
We looked
at the types of games, We wanted to stay with a more typical
game rather than a mystic or futuristic one. We Did however
want to have a Halloween themed game hence Resident Evil ,
Our other was to blend the online games we love during the
off season with paintball. We ended up with Battle Field
2009.
Rarebreed
is trying to create games from a players point of view, and
bring them to you at a reasonable cost, We have the mind set
that the same group of people that always go to games we had
been at was great but if we can make it cost effective to
have new and more folks break into our great sport how much
better it could be.
So We will
continue to bring you our best and with each event we learn.
Rarebreed does this for the excitement of having a great
game and to grow the sport
